"The village has been able to adapt and respond to regional, national and global changes in both the business and industrial world. Versailles has moved from the slower pace of simpler times to the high-speed computers and automation of today. ""It's remarkable how we are able to adapt to those changes while building on the community's future needs,"" said Randy Gump, village administrator. While the village has seen a downward spiral in the workforce, it has not suffered from any business closures. ""We have not had any businesses closing, but we have not seen any new businesses,"" Gump said. ""We are looking for a rebound in the upcoming year."
